CSC 170: Introduction to Programming and the Web

The course is taught using the Javascript programming language and HTML, but it emphasizes algorithmic thinking and creative problem solving over language specifics. Grades are based on projects and exams. CSC 161 will be offered Spring '11. Students completing either CSC 170 or CSC 161 may use either of them for several CSC clusters.  Students considering a BA in computer science may choose to take the sequence CSC 170, CSC 161, CSC 171 and CSC 172 to prepare them for upper level CSC classes.
