25th Anniversary Celebration
The University of Rochester's
Department of Computer Science
celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary on Friday and Saturday, October
13 and 14, 2000, in conjunction with the
University's
Sesquicentennial.
Thank you to all the alums, colleagues, and friends who made
the effort to join us!
Thanks also to the people who mde it happen:
Chris Brown (Master of Ceremonies), Peg Meeker, Marty Guenther, George

Highlights
- A gala dinner held at the Kornberg Atrium featuring after-dinner
reminiscences by former UR President Robert Sproull, CS Department
founder Jerry Feldman, CS Professor Dana Ballard, and original CS grad
student (and current Microsoft VP) Rick Rashid
- Invited talks by Rick Rashid and UNC Professor Henry Fuchs on the
subject of Computers, The Internet, and You.
- A pair of Computer Science symposia featuring talks by current
faculty about their recent research:
- Department Open Houses featuring tours of the
Speech,
Vision,
and
Virtual Reality
labs.
