| What are your research interests? | |
| I'm interested in Natural Language Processing (NLP), especially the tasks of parsing and translation. | |
| Where are you from originally? | |
| Before coming to Rochester, I was doing my master's study at the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Even before that, I was a CS undergrad at Peking (Beijing) University. | |
| What do you do on a typical day? | |
| I am a full time researcher now after entering the 4th year. Everyday is about the same. :) Regularly I do paper reading, writing, programming, and discussions with my advisor during the workdays. I go for lunch with my seventh floor floor-mates. Each time we choose one of the three cafeterias in the Medical Center according to a distribution that is parameterized by the set of people going together. Since August, I also run for 2 miles in the Genesee Valley Park in the afternoon (almost) every other day. | |
| What are your goals for this year? | |
| I'll finish the bulk of my thesis work. | |
| What do you plan to do after you graduate? | |
| I want to stay in academia. | |
| How do you like to spend your free time? | |
| I like reading and watching movies when I am free. | |
