Imaginary Science: Interactions and Collaborations
The collaborative and interactive works of Jeremy Speed Schwartz and the League of Imaginary Scientists sit at the crossroads of science and art. Projects have been inspired by diverse fields such as theoretical physics, evolutionary theory, and thermodynamics. The League frequently collaborates with scientists in various fields including NASA geologists, engineers from Bradley University and biologists from MIT. Each project utilizes concepts of 'pataphysics, scientific mythologies and play as methods to draw interaction from an audience. Founding member and digital artist Jeremy Speed Schwartz will present some of the League's recent forays into interactive art, and discuss his strategies for inter-disciplinary collaboration.
