Incorporating Pragmatic Inference for Understanding Commands in a Situated Environment
Abstract: The goal of the SUBTLE (Situation Understanding Bot Through Language and Environment) project is to develop an integrated system for a robot that can respond to commands given by a person sharing its environment and carry out various actions to accomplish both short- and long-term goals. I will give an overview of the system and focus on the semantic parsing and various pragmatic inference techniques used to generate plans based on underspecified command parameters.
