The University of Rochester's MS program offers students the opportunity to delve deeper into Computer Science in a small, tight-knit community of scholars. Approximately 80% of our MS students engage in a research project with faculty at some point during their program here, and many of these collaborations result in published work! Whether you are interested in an MS program as a stepping stone to a PhD program (our MS graduates have gone on to programs at University of Maryland and University of California, Berkeley) or honing your skills to enter industry, our program is an excellent option!

Our philosophy is that computer science research is a community endeavor, crucially dependent on the vitality of the department community. We believe that graduate students are the valuable not only as the heart of the our research productivity, but also to the overall effectiveness of the department.

All PhD students in good standing are guaranteed a 100% tuition scholarship and a stipend to cover living expenses
