’ ’ don’t go into the center today, she’s not busy at all. look at her just sitting there waiting to serve us! but I hear she has a big ol project and report due next wednesday at noon. we should all go in there at 11:45 and just ask her inane questions or request her to do stuff that we know the other staff sitting near her are totally capable of. “I think if must be fun for them to aggravate me, that’s the only explanation. when I’m 6 deep in training new staff (who are fabulous! I just hope the old staff don’t contaminate them) and there are two other staff twiddling thumbs at their desks with no new staff, why do you ask me to find crap for you?! and old staff… you’re funny, you’re experienced, you usually have wisdom that can be helpful… when you’re not being snide, rude, or obnoxious over every request for assistance. and let’s not discuss your unwillingness to put yourselves out for patrons or other staff. god forbid you get up and offer help rather than wait for an annoyed patron to ask questions. then you want to get snarky when they are befuddled, confused and annoyed. this seems to happen mostly when I’m no longer available to help them. are we seeing a pattern here? if you are proactive and help them before they are annoyed than you don’t have to waste energy being defensive and annoyed back at them. so then you can be friendly and helpful while they are still feeling all warm and fuzzy rather than rage – filled. got it? I know. it would involve preventative actions and getting off your comfy chair. god forbid. now stop complaining that your pants are too tight and your butt too big. wait, that might be me. kisses, me
