About:

Nathan is a fifth year graduate student in the University of Rochester Computer Science Department.

Research Interests:

My work lies at the intersection of machine learning, robotics, and congitive science. The central question that my research addresses is how visual behavior can be organized to deal with complex environments and conflicting goals. The platform for this work is a human character that navigates through a realistically rendered virtual environment.

Projects:

Virtual Human Vision: This project is concerned with understanding the management of visually guided behavior in the face of dynamic environments and multiple goals. This project has two aims. The first is to address engineering questions concerning the control of embodied agents. The second is to address the related question of how humans handle visuo-motor tasks.
