    svn co svn+ssh://login@<cs-machine-name>/p/compiler/repos/<project-name>/trunk <project-name>

this will retrieve the mainline (and only) branch of the project into a directory named . The trunk directory is useful later because we may want to create branch or tag directories in parallel to it.

When working on a machine outside the department firewall, add svn+ssh to the command as show in the "co" example above. The cs machine can be cycle1, but not heart (which does not have svnserve). I have tried remote import but have not tried svnadmin. -- ChenDing

-- KirkKelsey - 14 Jan 2008 The repository for all CompilerGroup projects is in /p/compiler/repos

If you are not familiar with subversion, take a look at the VersionStuff page. If you need to start a new repository from existing code:

  • svnadmin create --fs-type fsfs /p/compiler/repos/<project-name>
  • svn import file:///p/compiler/repos/<project-name>/trunk -m "initial checking of <project-name>"

The code can then be checked out with

  • svn co file:///p/compiler/repos/<project-name>/trunk <project-name>

this will retrieve the mainline (and only) branch of the project into a directory named . The trunk directory is useful later because we may want to create branch or tag directories in parallel to it.
