Your comments are welcome. I will apologize in advance in case I am unable to respond--I receive quite a bit of mail about this (free) service, you understand.
You can help alleviate this problem! First determine if your message falls into one of the following categories. If so, don't send it to me! Otherwise your message may join the Sports Schedules Stupid Mailbag.
When I find a schedule, or when someone sends me one in a useful form, I make it available as soon as possible. So if you don't see it, I don't have it, and I don't know when or if I'll ever have it.
Do you think I'm holding out on you? If I had the information, I'd share it with you. That's just the way I am. If you want more information available from this service, find it and send it to me in some electronic form. I'll be happy to format it for use by the programs and make it available.
Yeah, right. The commercial services do a perfectly good job of this. Check them out.
Some people are never satisfied. You could try Yahoo. But don't ask me.
You know, I'm not a full-time schedule researcher. When someone sends me a schedule or I find it somewhere, I format it and make it available. If you want more information, go find it, then let me know and perhaps I can add it in, if it's of general relevance. You can also obtain the source distribution and build yourself a custom version of the programs.
What I know is what you see. There are search engines for this kind of thing. I am not a search engine. Heck, I don't even follow most of the leagues/sports whose schedules I provide!
These comments are welcome. However, in most cases I am unable to make corrections unless you provide some definitive documentation. One possiblity would be to ask for some corroboration from the inhabitants of a newsgroup (whew, I can't believe I just wrote that about USENET).
These comments are also welcome, but please be sure to let me know how you ran the programs (via the web, compiled, etc.) and what you did to trigger the problem. Also, please include information about your platform, web browser, etc., as appropriate. The more information the better.
In case you think I'm being a jerk about the whole thing, you might enjoy this sampling of some of the stupider messages I've received despite my whining. You are welcome to not use the service if it offends you, by the way.
Of course, not everyone's an idiot. Some people have nice things to say about this (free) service. And of course there are the people who have contributed, thereby improving the service for everyone out of the goodness of their hearts.
Still want to send me mail? Fire away.
