Kebne

West of Nikkaloukta, the road turns into a trail, and after a few km the valley opens up to this view of Tuolpagerni, the peak with the snow covered bowl or kettle in the middle of the picture.

kungKebCamp

Near Tuolpagerni lies Kebnekaise, the highest peak in the area. Here we found a nice shielded camping spot preparing for the ascent the next day.

From kebne goes the popular Kungsleden, north up to Abisko, where a railroad connects. To the south, the first connection with civilisation is the road near the Suorva dam.

At Suorva we are also sufficiently low that enough dead bushes for a campfire can be collected.

kungAlv

Using the bridges on Kungsleden helps when crossing alpine rivers like this one. Otherwise it's easy to navigate your own route through this sparsely vegetation.

kungVagg

Popular "postcard picture" of mountain wall, which name I don't remember, covered with cloud. After many days we took a (extremely quick) bath in the cold (near 0C) mountain lake in the foreground.
