The overall picture of the mobile robotics project is described in the Overview. The research is divided into a number of subtasks, each accomplishing a specific subgoal described in the overview. The ultimate aim of the project is to be able to perform autonomous navigation in indoor and outdoor environments.
Subtasks are creation of various sensors and sensor models for environment perception (Task 1), sensor fusion using Bayesian networks (Task 2), map building and updating (Task 3), and, potential field based control (Task 4).
