Xiao Zhang (张晓)

Short Introduction

I am affiliated with Google now, you can view my profile here.

Welcome to my homepage. Xiao pronounces 'hsiao' in English and it means 'dawn' in Chinese since I was born when the day was dawning.

I completed PhD program under guidance of professors Sandhya Dwarkadas and Kai Shen. My primary research is focused on interface/interaction between OS and hardware, especially multicore chip resource management. Nowadays I also grow strong interests in large-scale cluster power management, social network security, and file system based on solid-state device. I have been playing Linux kernel and performance counters for years and have lots of fun in cracking stuff.

I spend last three summers at IBM@Austin, VMware@Palo Alto, VMware@Cambridge respectively, where I participated awesome projects and made lots of friends. I graduated in summer 2010 and started my career at Google@Mountain View.

Before I came to URCS, I got bachelor degree of CS from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).
