CSC257/457 Assignment Electronic Turn-in Instructions
Please copy all the files you want to submit into a single directory. Double check the
files before submitting. It is fairly straightforward to submit your assignments as follows.
If you are working on a machine in undergraduate labs, you should use the following command to turn in your assignments:
[yourself@foobar] ~cs257/bin/TURN_IN <directory_to_be_submitted>
If you are working on a machine in graduate labs, you should use the following command to turn in your assignments:
[yourself@foobar] ~cs457/bin/TURN_IN <directory_to_be_submitted>
Notes:
-
<directory_to_be_submitted> is where you have your files to be submitted.
It could be absolute or relative. If you want to submit the directory you
are in, use "." as the <directory_to_be_submitted>.
Everything in that directory including subdirectories are going to be copied.
-
The copying operation will be done with the uid of cs257/cs457, therefore
it is important to have world read and execute permission (a+rx) on the submitted
directory and any subdirectory, as well as world read permissions (a+r) on
all files in those directories.
-
If the submitted directory(<directory_to_be_submitted>) is not the current
directory you are in ("."), you also need to give execute permission (a+x) to the
parent directory of the submitted directory.
-
When the operation is complete, you should receive an e-mail summarizing
all the executed operations. Please read that message carefully to ensure
all the necessary files were submitted. If there are warnings, or failure
messages, please take all the necessary steps to fix them. If you feel there is a
system problem, let the TA know immediately.
-
You can submit more than once. But only the latest submission will be graded.
