This group keeps tabs on various information technology issues concerning
individual liberties vs. government and corporate interests.
Somewhat pro-individual liberty slant.
They constructed a
DES cracker
to prove it could be done.
- RSA Labs
Research branch of one of the world's premier information
security outfits. Their
FAQ page has all sorts of interesting information on it.
- Project Gutenberg.
A project to provide publicly available digital text for
manuscripts in the public domain. Currently about 5000 books,
with heavy emphasis on classics.

- Enigma replica project.
A project to construct a physical replica of German WWII M4 enigma
encryption device. Lots of photos and some technical design information
including actual wiring of the original rotors.
