A list of pet peeves for your pleasure. Calvin continues its excellent January Series. Some highlights this year are NT Wright, Miroslav Volf, and Lauren Winner. Put your mouse over my picture on the main page for a pleasant surprise. Here's a nicer picture of me, smiling. There are some interesting projects going on in my neighborhood. I hope they can break through the red tape. Update: They did. Update2: We have a wiki. Don't be bothered by the way I wrote my name on the main page. I only wrote it that way because I liked the way it looked. This is a picture of me surrounded by young Tiv children. I taught at the University of Mkar in Mkar, Benue State, Nigeria for about six months in the first half of 2003. Tiv is the name of the dominant people group in that area, as well as their language. Since returning I have served as the executive secretary of Friends of the University of Mkar. I went back back for a few weeks in the summer of 2006. When I came to URCS in the summer of 2004 , I had a friendly chat with my new office-mate. These are some blogs that I read regularly: [language log] [arts & letters daily] and when I feel like spending a lot of time (very engaging writing) [easily distracted]. However, I never read blogs, I only do research. |
