Sid is a skilled computer science student with a record of impressive achievements. After graduating, he looks forward to his new role as a software engineer at Palantir in New York City, where he will tackle some of the industry's toughest data problems. During his time at the University of Rochester, Sid interned at several prominent companies, including Slack, Microsoft, Zendesk. He also spent the past year interning at FLX AI as a Quantitative Machine Learning Research Engineer, working on developing machine learning models for trading. Sid's exceptional talent and hard work have earned him numerous awards, including winning the prestigious Moonshot Prize at Stanford TreeHacks 2023 and being a category winner at Twitter's Code-Chella Global Hackathon. Moreover, Sid's membership in highly-selective startup and venture capital communities, such as being a Neo scholar, Z Fellow, and GGV Capital NextGen Fellow, gives him exclusive access to an ultimate technical founder network, events, and mentors. These networks are incredibly diverse and include industry leaders like the CTO of Microsoft, the ex-CTO of Facebook, or the CEO of Uber, as well as mentors, including Marc Randolph (Netflix), Keith Rabois (Founders Fund), Dylan Field (Figma), and many others. Sid is excited for the next chapter of his career, leveraging the skills, network and knowledge he gained from over the last 4 years. My four years at the University of Rochester have been a beautiful journey full of memories that I will cherish for life, of friends I made along the way and experiences that prepared me for a successful career and adulthood. "It’s been such a long journey at UR! I started out as a Math and Physics major, and switched to CS in my sophomore year. Between covid, changes at home, studying abroad, and everything else that’s happened in the past few years, it’s been absolutely crazy. But I’m proud that I made it here, through everything. I’m really grateful for all of my friends that have made college so special, and kept me going through it all. I’ve received so much heartfelt support from so many people, and I’m grateful for that from the bottom of my heart. We’ve all gone through a lot, and we’ve made so many memories together. I’ll miss them. I still haven’t really processed the fact that in just a few days, these special days will only live in my memories. But I hope that I’ll carry everything I’ve learned, the relationships I’ve made, the confidence everyone’s had in me, and all of the love I’ve received with me for the rest of my life. I hope that all of my friends keep smiling. I’m so proud of all of them. Here’s to good times, cherished memories, and all of the love I could ever want. “Pain doesn’t make people. It’s love that makes people. The pain is inconsequential. It’s love that saves them.” “With every meeting, a parting is sure to follow. However, that parting need not last forever. Whether a parting be forever, or merely a short time, that is up to you.”"

As I remember my first few days at UR as a transfer student in the fall of 2019, I'm proud of the person I've grown into today. I came into college not having taken math since high school, nervous about keeping up with the rest of my classmates. My coursework as a CS major has taught me lessons that I take with me beyond the classroom. First, evaluate the problem at hand. Before jumping to a solution, it is necessary to get all the information to understand the constraints of the problem. Second, break things down into easier sub-problems. Starting with a small, easy to understand example prevented me from getting overwhelmed. And finally, always consider the edge cases. Understanding where my proposed solution might fail allowed me to carefully consider what details I might have overlooked. Throughout college, I have learned to become more resilient both academically and interpersonally. Even when a problem seemed too big or challenging, slowing down and taking it step by step allowed me to work towards a solution.

My time at the University has been fruitful, and while my professors have certainly taught me a lot, I’ve learnt more from outside the classroom. Throughout my four years at college, I’ve had the good fortune of joining a variety of groups: acapella, fraternity, pre-professional, and interest groups. Some organisations resonated with me more than others, but all of them taught me things about myself I wouldn’t have otherwise known: I loved dancing, wasn’t big on vocal training, and hated sharing my personal space.Yet, I think the biggest teachers for me yet have been my friends. These wonderful people have taught me how to be more compassionate, loving, and vulnerable to others and myself. From classes to conversations and outings, we’ve had so many shared experiences together that sometimes I forget. I may wrack my brain for the specifics of when my friend and I explored the Sunken Gardens or which exes another friend and my heartbreak conversation involved. But, I will always remember the deep undercurrent of love that surrounds each interaction. What a privilege it is to be loved by them. Anyways. After graduation, I'll be moving to Seattle to start my role as a Software Engineer at Microsoft. Goodbye, Rochester. And thank you.

Most significantly, my coursework and research with Professor Hemaspaandra has vastly deepened my understanding of theory and I have co-authored multiple papers which have been accepted to conference. I am immensely thankful for his continued support. Through my time as captain and president of the university’s climbing club, I became part of a tight-knit community of people who support and push each other.
