Rochester Fifth in Computer Vision

The latest CS Rankings reports show that in the area of computer vision, the University of Rochester is ranked in the top five in the United States for the year of 2019, trailing only Carnegie Mellon University, Stanford, University of Central Florida (which has a big computer vision center led by Mubarak Shah), and UC Berkeley. Rochester ranks above both with MIT and Cornell ranked sixth and seventh respectively.

Computer vision is one of the most active areas in AI, with over 9,000 people attending its flagship conference CVPR in 2019.
