Before the start of class on Monday, January 21, send mail to URCSx58@gmail.com containing answers to the following questions: (1) What is your name, year in school (grad? undergrad?), and department? (2) What previous "systems" courses have you taken (e.g., computer organization, operating systems, programming languages, networks, databases, architecture, ...)? (3) What previous experience, if any, do you have with parallel and distributed programming? (4) Are there any topics you're particularly hoping to see covered this semester? (And to make sure you've obtained access to course resources): (5) What is the page number of the last page of the bibliography at the end of the instructor's Shared Memory Synchronization book? (6) What is the output of the command ls -l /u/cs258/bin/TURN_IN on the CSUG network (or of ls -l /u/cs458/bin/TURN_IN on the graduate network)?
