You can find the most recent version of this archive at

You should find the following five files in this archive:

  - README (this file)
  - Display.java
  - Server.java
  - UpdateServer.java
  - UTFTelnet.java

Display.java and Server.java comprise the Display server and need to
be compiled together. You can then run them by typing "java Display".
The default port is 9990.

UpdateServer is a convenience class for sending updates to the display
server. Simply instantiate it with the hostname of the server as an
argument, and then call the update() method on that object with the
update string as a parameter.

UTFTelnet is another convenience class used to send arbitrary strings
to the display server. The decision was made by the Green team to
send strings in UTF, which means that you can't use the system telnet
to do this. Thus this version. It needs to be compiled against
UpdateServer.java .
