Zhengyuan Yang wins 2020 Twitch Research Fellowship

Congratulations to Zhengyuan Yang for winning the 2020 Twitch Research Fellowship to support his PhD research on video and language.

Twitch is the No. 1 live streaming video service for video games in the US, operated by Twitch Interactive, a subsidiary of Amazon. In addition, it also offers music broadcasts, creative content, and more recently, "in real life" streams.

Zhengyuan YangZhengyuan Yang is a fourth-year PhD student advised by Professor Jiebo Luo. His research interests include vision+language (e.g. visual grounding, tracking by language) and human-centered image and video understanding (e.g. human action recognition, human part parsing). His research could enable new functions in Twitch, such as language-based video search, chat room content understanding, and human-centered video editing. He obtained his B.Eng. Degree from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2016.
